La Casona is located in the village of Amandi, a few minutes from Villaviciosa and settled in the plain of the Llinares River that flows into the Cantabrian Sea through the Ría of Villaviciosa, an estuary of high ecological value for its important vegetation and fauna, especially ornithological.
It is located less than thirty kilometers from Gijón and its location is ideal to explore the Asturian East, both for its coastline, to visit its fishing villages and villas,
and for its interior, since it is about forty kilometers from Arriondas, Cangas de Onís or Covadonga.
The enclave is ideal for sports and has several hiking and bicycle trails. Rodiles Beach is known all over the world for the quality of the waves in the Ribadesella Estuary, frequented by fans of surfing and other aquatic sports.
La Casona is located in Amandi, a village located on the outskirts of Villaviciosa, capital of the council. This well-known Asturian town has numerous touristic attractions. The ornamental richness of its Romanesque heritage is represented in the Church of Santa María de la Oliva, as well as in the temples of adjoining villages such as San Juan de Amandi, or Santa Eulalia de Selorio. The Monumental Complex of Valdediós is an authentic jewel of the Asturian pre-Romanesque.
Gijón is one of the most important cities in Asturias and is located less than thirty kilometers from the house. Oviedo, capital of the province, is located at slightly greater distance, about forty minutes by car.
The location of the house is an ideal enclave to explore the eastern coast of Asturias, its villages and fishing villages. Starting with Tazones, ten kilometers from Villaviciosa.
Lastres is another town of seafaring tradition of obligatory visit in the council of Colunga. Forty kilometers from Villaviciosa, along the coast, we find Ribadesella, known internationally for the Descent of the Sella River, and Llanes, another popular town almost on the border with Cantabria.
In the interior, approaching the Picos de Europa, we find Arriondas and Cangas de Onis, first city of the Asturian monarchy and a mandatory stop to climb the Sanctuary of Covadonga; one of the most iconic sites visited in the region.
The entire enclave of the Ribadesella estuary and the surroundings of Villaviciosa are the ideal framework to practice various sports and outdoor activities. From the Casona we organize tailor-made routes adapted to the tastes of our visitors.
We are a few kilometers from the beach of Rodiles and Puntal, where we can find the best waves in Spain as well as a striking dune system and an extensive marsh, la Marisma de Misiego.
The descent of the Sella by canoe is a very popular and exciting activity in this area. It is very exciting and does not require previous experience to practice it safely.
Rodiles Beach is known to surfers and paddle surfing enthusiasts all over the world thanks to the quality of the waves that form at the end of the Villaviciosa bay. It can be navigated and is also frequented by paddle surfers.
