La Casona de Amandi
An Authentic Palace
La Casona de Amandi, located in the fertile plains of the Llinares river and located in the heart of the Camino de Santiago, was built in the mid-nineteenth century and was declared a unique building in 1991, becoming then a pioneer in rural tourism.
At the beginning of the 20th century, two glazed galleries were added. One of them, supported by iron columns, is facing south with views of a splendid garden with wisteria, lime trees, fir trees, arborvitae, a large sequoia and a meadow of almost one hectare where you can fully enjoy nature in a privileged setting in the heart of Asturias.
The house was built on the walls of an old blacksmith shop on a farm owned by the counts of Revillagigedo and is known as the “Quinta la Ballina” or “Casona de Amandi”. Across the street is the Chapel of San Juan, declared a unique building in 1991.
The interior
The interior of the house is full of corners with history; its rooms are furnished with antiques like player pianos, chests- of- drawers and chests offering a very personal experience. The gallery is peace made a corner, where the exit is collected and celebrated and sunset every day, projecting its light and offering its warmth to each of its stays.
The porch of natural wood, where intimate celebrations can be held, is the perfect connection between the indoors and the outdoors it is the transition between the cozyness of the mansion and the natural brightness that bathes its garden.
The rooms
The Casona consists of nine rooms, all of them different and each one more picturesque than the other. Some are roomier, with a larger space for a reading area. They are distributed in two plants where the priority is comfort, rest and attention to our guests.
The rooms are decorated in warm tones, with wooden floors and carefully selected old furniture that provide a cozy atmosphere. They all have their own bathroom with shower or bathtub. with possibility of extra beds and cots and with an approximate total occupancy of 24 people.
Pets are also welcome.
Double Rooms
Our double rooms are uniquely decorated, warm and cozy and are ideal for a couple or for a single person. They are fully equipped with their own bath or shower, hair dryer, reception, heating, television and Wi-Fi.
Family Double Room
A little more spacious with the possibility of including an extra bed, they are ideal for families with children. They are fully equipped with their own bathroom, bath or shower, hair dryer, reception, heating, television and Wi-Fi.
Indiana Room
Our Indiana room is a suite designed for a special and memorable experience. It has a large glazed bathroom with white and blue tiles that will transport you to the past. The light and warmth of the room will make your nights unique.
By adding two extra beds it can accommodate an entire family and it is fully equipped with shower, hairdryer, host products, heating, television and Wifi.
Indiana Junior Room
Our Indiana Junior Room is very spacious and it has a view of St. John’s Chapel and the mountains. Its powerful, natural light will make your awakenings a very pleasant experience.
It can accommodate up to 3 to 4 people and it has a fully equipped, large bathroom with shower, hairdryer, welcome products, heating, television and Wifi.
An enjoyable dining room
There are few places with the food variety offered in the north of our country, its Gastronomy being one of the main reasons to which Asturias owes its fame. In The Casona we offer you all you need to learn first-hand about the kitchen of our region.
Our organic breakfasts are composed of natural seasonal juices, fresh organic fruits, sourdough bread, croissants and pastries.
Exterior
La Casona de Amandi is located in the heart of a spectacular landscaped estate of more than 5000 square meters, offering different and spectacular scenarios populated with willows and oaks that intermingle creating a forest both magical and evocative.
The exteriors of La Casona also have a new wooden and glass structure, integrated fully with nature and glazed in all its surface, that has capacity for 300 guests. This space is ideal for banquets, wedding receptions, and events with a large influx of public.
